In a bizarre twist to this tragic story, Fiona McKeown has admitted that she is extremely fearful that Police in Goa are planning to charge her
with neglect in regards to her daughter Scarlett Keeling.
Chief Minister for Goa (Digambar Kamat) has already clearly stated that he believes that Fiona is culpable in the rape and murder of her daughter, and so it would not be a huge surprise to have her alleged neglect confirmed by charges.
She has told the Reuters News Agency:
I am worried at these reports and the police is deflecting the real issue and taking the focus away by saying that I neglected my daughter which is not true
Kishan Kumar who is the senior investigating officer handling the apparent rape and murder of 15year old Scarlett Keeling stated:
There are provisions under Indian laws to charge her with neglect,” said Kishan Kumar, a senior police officer handling the case.
That is a possibility, but we are not saying anything more now
Fiona McKeown is convinced that the Police in Goa are keen to silence her, as she has been extremely vocal about her dissatisfaction with the way that they have been handling her daughters’ case.
When I called the British Consulate in Goa this afternoon to see if they would be prepared to comment on the case, nobody was available to speak with me.
No surprise there then.
I have run out of coffee - fancy buying me one? I knew this twist would happen. The police will continue to play out their game until Fiona is a mess. This is what they do. They play dirty. She should get out of India if it is not too late.
I have to admit that it is looking increasingly likely that Fiona is going to be charged with neglect.
