A chef in Glasgow has decided that wheel clampers who then towed his car shouldn’t be able to keep hold of it. When they originally towed it he told them to “Put that f*****g car down” and proceeded to climb into his car on the back of the tow truck and had to be ‘talked down’ by a local constable.
He didn’t leave it there, however. A few days later he turned up at the pound, got into his ’souped up Saxo’ and then drove it away with a tow yard employee hanging on to the car.
Now this 22yr old had 15 parking tickets, so many will say he deserved to get towed. He didn’t pay so he had to be penalised. Well - maybe.
These days it is virtually impossible to find somewhere to park, and when you do find somewhere it is often unclear as to what the exact parking regulations are, and whether or not they actually apply to you or not. With the Governments’ constant stream of little attacks on drivers it is very easy to find yourself on the wrong end of a clamp - and in many instances the clamper is not even acting as a legal authority (private land clampers for example).
I don’t like the idea of this guy endangering the safety of the yard employee. I am not even sure that I have any real sympathy for him getting towed in the first place. I do understand why he reacted the way that he did though.
It is far too easy to get more than a little miffed by the complete lack of any real clarity with regard to parking legalities. It is far too easy to get a ticket without knowing quite how it happened. It is far too easy to reminisce for the days when driving was actually quite good fun.
This guy is 22. Driving has never been fun for him. No real surprise that he is so fed up then is it?
I have run out of coffee - fancy buying me one?
