And who wouldn’t?
Seems that Scarlett Keelings’ mother is convinced that the suspect who is currently in custody is simply a patsy to cover up for the utter
inability of the Police in Goa to find out what is happening to young women in the Indian holiday destination.
Scarlett was 15 when her body was found on the beach, seemingly a drowning victim. More recent pathology has led to the belief that the British girl was in fact raped and killed.
Clearly distressed by the death of her daughter it seems that Fiona Keeling is more distressed by the seeming coverup that is going on to hide the ineptitude of the local Police. Fiona is calling for the Indian Central Bureau of Investigation to take over the inquiry in a desperate effort to find her daughter’s real killer.
I have lost faith in the current leadership of the Goa police and request for an inquiry by the Central Bureau of Investigation, both into the circumstances of the crime and the men in uniform
she is reported to have told the Times newspaper. As such she has sent a letter to Digambar Kamat (Goa’s Chief Minister) requesting the change in investigative team.
Digambar is reported as saying that he is satisfied with the way that the investigation is being handled and sees no reason to involve any other agency.
So far all of this simply sounds like a sad tale and one that we all hope that we never find ourselves involved in.
Digambar Kamat blames Western women and their behaviour for their rapes…
Seriously.
It is Western women and their provocative dress - coupled with their promiscuous nature that leads to them being raped and subsequently killed.
This from the Chief Minister of a country that absolutely RELY on foreign tourist spending.
It is unbelievable to think that any sane person could think that a woman is to blame for her rape, and on top of that to blame the women that bring vital funds into the country is simply insane.
- No woman deserves to be raped
- No woman deserves to be murdered
- I will not be going to Goa after all.
I have run out of coffee - fancy buying me one?
