There is good news and bad news in the McCartney household today. It seems that the Judge presiding over the McCartney v Mills divorce has put to both parties his outline judgement as to the division of the marital fortune.
The good news for Paul McCartney is that odd-bird Mills is unlikely to get anymore than he originally offered her.
The bad news is that amounts to £35m (may be paid in installments) and around £100k a year in maintenance payments for their daughter.
Mills had allegedly demanded over £80m for her short marriage to the Beatles star, and Paul had been
offering (in Ms Mills’ words) a ‘paltry’ £30m. Paul is renowned for his careful approach to his money and it is partly this that has allowed him to amass the fortune that he currently has. He has a hatred for wastefulness and is known as someone who often will ask for a doggie bag in a restaurant out of ‘principal’ as he ‘paid for it so’ will take it home.
Ms Mills (ex-model with a missing limb) has been on a series of shows berating the pop-star and accusing him and his ‘entourage’ of systematically trying to make her look bad in public and in the press.
It is safe to say that the person that makes Heather Mills look worst in public or in the press is the same money grabbing, attention seeking, slightly unbalanced (no pun intended) ex-model called Heather Mills.
Paul will no doubt see £30m as a cheap way of getting her out of his life.
