In theory version 2.5 of Wordpress now allows multi-media files to be uploaded to your posts natively and without the use of a plugin.
In practice you probably want more control over these presentations than you are given - and that is where An-Archos’ plugin comes in to play.
mp3, flv, mov, mp4, m4v, m4a, m4b, 3gp, avi, asf and wmv, Media links (google et al) all are supported and their presentation in your post is easy to manage and straightforward to control - at least in theory. I say in theory because I have yet to see this work in 2.5
Back in some of my other blogs which are still languishing in 2.3.3 (well - I am convinced that WP 2.5 has yet to reach ’stable’ condition!), it works great. The files present flawlessly and everything works as you would hope.
In 2.5 it simply doesn’t. There appears to be some sort of conflict with WordPress’ inbuilt players that simply prevents Anarchy Media Player working properly. Now - I am no techie, so there could be some sort of Luser error here - but to be honest, I cannot be ars*d to even look at finding a solution.
Unfortunately, in my blog and for the purposes of this review, this plugin doesn’t work in 2.5

I have run out of coffee - fancy buying me one?
